Can you explain the agriomatik or compare it to what tractors in the States have??? I don't understand it other than I just learned today the the 70+ bucks including shipping I spent on an overrunning clutck to use with the baler isn't necessary...... Disengage the agriomatic and the baler doesn't push the tractor....

Appears what you have is an automatic w/ a lever on the left dash for a pto clutch. The pto clutch and overrunning clutch accomplish the same thing as far as your baler, just do it different.
If you didn't know about the pto clutch then somebody gave you the next best advice w/ the overrunning clutch.
How it reads on the net only used the ORC.

Standard trans........ but the agriomatic works as a low range.... Can put in in neutral and have the pto going then shift the trans wherever you want it without a clutch then put it in the LO position for movement. This can be done from beside the tractor which makes loadind hay a little easier when you are by yourself....

Don't understand your beside the tractor but a lot of people run themselves over. Seems like you have some running boards or something that keeps you out from the wheels.

common sense applies............ Got my foot tangled in the tire a couple of times...

You knew that, upon disengaging the hand clutch, the baler would NOT push the tractor forward, didn't you?
If, being in a bind, your conditioned reflex is to disengage the foot clutch, your ORC is still worth the money :)

No, I didn't know that.......... Do now tho
But it IS hard to get away from that clutch pedal..............

Oh well...........better to have and not need than need and not have...........

Link below shows you the schematics of the Agriomatic; in addition, there are two hyperlinks at the bottom of that page. In the page "http://www.wischhof13.de/trecker/getr_ihc_d430.pdf", the black line through the components show the flow of power through the transmission components.
ZW stands for Zapfwelle = PTO.
HTH, have fun, Hendrik
Agriomatic schematics

The confusion about the Agriomatic may be the TWO functions of the lever.
1) High/Low of transmission. The lever in the horizontal position keeps the transmission in High. The lever in any position between 45 degrees and vertical keeps the transmission in Low.
2) Operation of the Agriomatic clutch. Moving from the 45 degrees position to the vertical position engages the Agriomatic clutch and vice versa. (You may do this very slowly either way, because it is a wet clutch and is designed to take considerable slipping - as opposed to MOST other clutches. (I've learned, for instance, that Torque Amplyfier clutches do not like being feathered.))
HTH even more...

Hi Dave, the IH 253 tractor has a 4 speed gearbox and a high/low/reverse gearbox. When the tractor is operated in high or low range the Agrimatic system gives you a change on the move high and low gear doubling the gears to 16. When you put the range lever into reverse mooving the Agrimatic lever backwards and forwards gives you a F/R movement without pressing the clutch pedal. When using the PTO shaft putting the Agrimatic lever in nutral will stop the tractor but the PTO will keep turning until you press the clutch pedal. MJ
