Walk-ins versus phone customers is subject to debate.
I was once in a two man NAPA store, dealing with the owner while the employee was at lunch. I'm standing at the counter, buying $200 worth of parts, when the owner took a ten minute phone call. I asked him why my cash order didn't take priority over a phone call, and he swore 80% of his business comes over the telephone.
Of course, this guy has a TV in the store and he's hooked on a particular soap opera. He gets pizzed off if he's by himself and a customer comes in while his soap is on. Maybe that's why he's been a small town, two man store for 30 years.
