I have owned a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab "off road" 4X4 truck since 2004 that now has 80K miles.
The exhaust tailpipe has always been clean on the inside to the point of receiving NO smut when dragging a finger through it! It looks the same inside as outside. There are NO exhaust leaks.
There was a "cruise control" recall and upon completion I showed the tec. my tail pipe and he was amazed. He even took pictures of the pipe and showed three other mechanics.
The shop forman wants me to bring the truck in for inspection :?: :?:
I might add that this is the first vehicle I have ever owned, that gets better then the EPA window sticker suggestion. :)
It is a 4L V6 and gets an overall average of 19.3 combined average over 1,000 miles.
