What was once a five story VA hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska is now an outpatient clinic using only the first two floors and the basement with the top three floors vacant. The top three still add to the cost of maintaining the facility. All inpatient concerns are dealt with in Omaha.
Not that I'm complaining. The medical care and general vet's service I've recieved from the Nebraska VA has been great. When I've filed claims, I've always gotten a response in a couple of weeks, every fall I get a letter reminding me that it's time for my annual physical, etc. And I'd go to my assigned physician as a private practitioner if he wasn't working for the VA.
And I understand there's a whole new VA facility being planned here in Nebraska.
