" I just want to preserve it so it don't rust on me" ....for how long? That's the question you will have to answer to anyone you hire to do it for you. That's what will decide how extensive the prep will be and how expensive the job will be. On the other hand , if you do it yourself it will be cheaper and then when you see rust in a year or two you will live with it. Bottom line is , if you pay it done you will expect some what of a warrantee and they need to know ahead of time EXACTLY how long that is so they know how to prep and what to charge. Probably a no-win situation so best do it yourself.
