I posted a few days ago on "Transporting" about loss of power, starting on four cylinders, stopping, and no start with my 2006 6.0 with 5,400 miles on fuel filters. I was advised to clean EGRs. I did so. I don't know how real bad looks but this was pretty dirty, but I could not see it failing to operate. So I cleaned it good, and greased the O-rings, and put it back in. It continued to have problems after the cleaning. Today I ran it quite a bit running around and pulling wagons loaded with hay, and it didn't have any problems after one momentary loss of power early on. I can see definite relation to heat. If I kept it from getting too hot after shut down, by parking in shade and opening the hood, it started every time I came back to it. It acts like it thinks that it is overheated so it cuts out four cylinders to go into emergency cooling mode. Has any one encountered a problem like this?
