If you got a collection of shoes, just try 'em all. depends how deep you go, how dry or crumbly the dirt is, and you might want to change them as conditions change froom year to year. Don't pick one size and thro the rest out! I have an old Hoover of Maine potato digger, maybe I'll get it going by this fall, behind one of my fergies. The plows in the pics El toro posted were money savers, trencher, hiller, and digger, all in one. Just depended how you aimed the horse. I've got one made in NY state by the Quebec border in a city that is now a ghost town, they made plows from the 1850's into the 1870's. So I don't play with it... maybe start it up again, we'll see/
