malwarebytesw is like a back up to a antivirus. it checks a few other things also but basically a once a week program to see if you got anything. get a good antivirus if you already do not have one. avast is a good free one as well as a few others but I only use avast. microsofts essentials is not that great and would not depend on it. you can go to malwarebytes website and download the lastest free version that will update before you scan if you tell it to.
