OT:Malwarebytes???

After my computer crashed the computer Dr installed the free version of Malwarebytes. After a month of use a box keeps coming up stating that my free trial has run out and this version won't update. Has anyone used the free version besides me? Thanks,Jim
 
malwarebytesw is like a back up to a antivirus. it checks a few other things also but basically a once a week program to see if you got anything.
get a good antivirus if you already do not have one.
avast is a good free one as well as a few others but I only use avast.
microsofts essentials is not that great and would not depend on it.
you can go to malwarebytes website and download the lastest free version that will update before you scan if you tell it to.
 
Malwarebytes is for spyware, not antivirus. it
works good. he installed a trail version of the
paid for version. I use the free version. there
should be a button or page to convert it to the
free version. I had the free trail and converted
it to the free version, now I do not get it asking
to pay. if you cannot get it to convert then just
uninstall it and then download the free version.
just decline the trial pay for version when ask.

Where do you find a free Avast down load? I"ve found what is plainly labeled"Free" but further into the presentation suddenly free is lost and fee is substituted.I don"t understand.
 
The way they word it is the "download" is free, but to use the program they need your credit card number. Just like all the free sites the product or service is "free" but they need a credit card number to verify your age, then when they have your number they sell it to scammers.
 
I have BOTH, Malwarebytes, and Microsoft security
essentials. I run the Malwarebytes first...then
I run the Microsoft Security Essentials... the
Microsoft Secrity Essentials ALWAYS finds some-
thing that the Malwarebytes missed !
 
Malwarebytes changed from a free program to a trial version in the last month. I am using the paid version on my computers and it is not expensive and is a lifetime license. I can use the same license key to put it on all my computers.
 
Hello, I have the free version, that my computer guy put in. He told me, ones the month free trial is done, uninstall it.
Then go to the web site and download it againg!
It works for me...................Guido.--:)
