Was talking to my uncle last night about a 4010 grandpa bought new in 1961. Mentioned I'd probably eventually get it restored to keep for a family piece. He said don't be in a hurry to touch that engine, it didn't have many hours on a rebuild. THen he said in fact he had it "redone" with a 4020 kit. He thought that it was resleeved and 4020 pistons where put in slightly upping the HP. Said he remembered it pulled a little better and ran cooler. I guess from new it had alway run a little hot. A great uncle bought it in the 80s and never did much with it. Unfortunantly it sat outside in the sun in western KS for many years, but the folks at the dealership said it was a real nice one that would clean up really well.
I was wondering what you could tell me about the 4020 kits the dealships were doing to 4010s, and if his recollection of it was correct.
