The fella that owns the baler called this evening and we changed the day I can look at the baler (because he's busy cutting wheat right now).
I asked how many bales he thinks have been thru the baler, and he's guessing about 12,000. He said the baler had 700 bales on it when he bought it, and he has probably averaged 600 bales per year since he has owned it. He has never baled alfalfa with it, says all the bales he has baled with it have been "cane".
Questions for Tx Jim,... does 12,000 bales sound like a lot, when compared to the approximate life span of a JD 535 baler?
Does cane cause noticeably more wear on round balers, than alfalfa or brome grass?
