I give the rookie a LOT of credit. A lot of other folks in his shoes would've stopped when they hit the wall,and finished about 15th or so...but he apparently stayed on the accelerator pedal and crossed the line second.
Us NASCAR fans are familiar with "the marbles" as you get higher on the track...apparently IndyCar folks need to learn this, too. Wasn't a particularly good day for cars sponsored by the National Guard and driven by folks with JR in their names, on the last lap of the race.
