1953 was the last year for the flat-head V-8's, they went to the Y-block OHV V-8 in 1954. ...Sorry...couldn't resist..... Hey, that's when they came out with the Jubilee tractors too though, and celebrated 50 years making Ford cars. The Jubilees were quite and improvement over the '52 8N's, the '53 Ford cars were just "warmed over" 52's. Same for the Mercurys. The '52 Lincoln was a neat new style job and had the big 317 cu. in. OHV V-8. How's that for trivia?
