well,thats not too bad of an idea,but lets look at some of the problems first and formost its uphill all the way,where water is cronicaly needed is on the high plains.several thousand feet higher than the now flooding areas.this would mean water would have to be pumped the whole way.also the sheer volume of water needed would be astronomical as someone else mentioned.you basically would have to water from the 100th meridian, west to the rockies,south to the mexican border.in other words,basically an area the size of the normal drainage of the mississippi.good plan if it could be done,but theres probably not enough power generated in the US to pump that much water ,that far,that high.
