You guys are on an awesome run of answering my questions tonight, so I'm going to get while the getting is good and the fish are biting!

I bought this junky Ford 8N that I am fixing up and I am new to tractors. This thing has the heaviest, beefy, rigid front end loader that I have seen at looking at several tractors and on Ebay. It has it's own hydraulic unit driven by a front end extension PTO shaft and an articulating bucket as wide as the tractor.

I cannot find anything out about this front end loader on the internet as far as a manual.

The guy that sold me the tractor put a dinosaur of an old grator blade on the back and the hydraulics could only lift it about 3 inches and it would bleed off and drag the ground. This grator blade has to weigh 550 pounds. I went to Rural King and bought an new one and no problems. I used the front end loader to chain onto the old grator blade just to pick it up and move it out of the way and it was no effort.

Comments please?

Ken

Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal. As a resul ... [Read Article]
