John, It sounds like you were a lot more serious than I was, for sure. There was a time, from about the early '60s to the late '80s, that I didn't care much one way or the other. Then I got into the nostalgic stage of life and started collecting. The only thing I have from my childhood is a closed flywheel A that I bought at the Indiana State Fair in 1947 or so for $1.50. Repainted it and replaced the front wheels that my brother's dog (mine knew better) ate. Have picked up a 60 w/ headlight on seat, a loader for the 60, a 12A combine (NIB but dusty), a KWA (I think) disk, a No. 44 plow (w/ lever), a 14-T baler (no wagon hitch, though), and have my son's 3020, 4 bottom plow, wheel disk (crank hitch), 4 row planter, and a long-nose picker...those all complete my aim of having toys of the stuff we had when I was a kid. The 3020 and associated equipment were after I left home. Note that I said "long-nose picker", not "long nose-picker"...it makes a difference, doesn't it? Thanks for the response. I hope the spring planting is going as planned. Talked with a guy from Piper City, Illinois (on U.S. 24 about 30 miles into Illinois) and his sons had all the corn planted by April 16. Whatever happened to waiting until May 20 to avoid the corn borers? Things have changed, I guess. Best regards, Stan Huff
