4020 3-POINT QUESTION

On a console 4020 the three point hitch won't raise as high as it should. On the other end of the scale it drops almost low enough to touch the ground. The lever doesn't seem to travel back all the way back in the slot either. the L&D lever is in the L position to work the best. any ideas? thanks in advance !!!!!!
