If you only have one bad wire, I would do as Dan says and replace that wire completely from end to end. If you suspect other bad wires, you might want to replace those too, one at a time so you don't get them mixed up. As Dan says, you can get wire, connectors, etc., at NAPA and at other parts stores like Advance, CarQuest, Pep Boys, etc., if you have them in your neighborhood. Places like Harbour Freight sell variety connector kits very reasonable.
