A little off topic, but this is my only vantage point since I used to drive school bus and my grain truck is gas and my semis are too big for comparison. The 444 was an option on school buses with the 466 as the other option. The 466 was far preferred and from a used standpoint I know that I walked away from many a bus because of the 444. I never heard anyone complain about it being gutless (like the 3208) but it just doesn't seem to have the longevity of the 466. I don't think that horsepower to pull the load will be your issue. Just from what I have seen you may not find it as reliable as other engines.
