I removed the distributor from my 340 and put on my M while parked close hooked the tack drive and read 2300 rpm . WOW ,what we're they thinking ? If I blow it up I have a replacement so I don't think I will slow it down just won't run at full throttle unless I need the power. Last, rechecked mph at wide open throttle 28 mph 2 lane blacktop GPS no pickup to guess with.
