Hey guys! Changed out the fuel sending unit on my sisters IH 606 last night with a new one. The old unit had one screw in the top for the single wire going to it, the new one has two studs. Obviously one is for the wire, is the other for a ground? I assumed it grounded through the tank...would a secondary one just be extra insurance or is it required for the unit to work properly? I did not connect anything to that second stud as of right now...fuel gauge works although I'm not sure its reading completely accurate. Tank looks about 3/4 full to me but gauge is reading almost full.
