Howdy F-14. I'm not sensitive enough to take offense to a lack of a hello from someone! No, I didn't take the engine to a shop and didn't measure flatness either. Maybe that was poor judgement, but I figured since it was running ok before disassembly - why bother. Thanks for the advice, from both you and RB. I will do just that. I already removed the antifreeze so I wouldn't poison any of our cats from anything that dripped on the floor. After this cold snap (down to high 20's!), I will add some water, crank her up and see what happens. Seems kinda magic that it would clear up, but it sure is easier trying that than dismantling again. No wasted effort, whether it works or not.
