Helping a friend out with his BN. It wouldn"t run, or even act like it wanted to start. So I began with the basics, flushed the fuel system, took carb apart and thoroughly cleaned it, new points, condenser, cap, wires, rotor, plugs, and since the coil seemed weak added a new coil. She fired right up. Then it wouldn"t go into gear, adjusted the clutch..it was way out. Then took it for a drive, rear axles whine a lot! Thinking it might be the bearing, tractor has been sitting for a long time, but I can"t find new bearings, are they hard to come by? It only really does it in 4th gear when moving fast, is this normal? He wants to take his wife on tractor rides, so 4th gear will probably be used a lot. She has had severe health issues over the past year and I want this fixed right for them...any suggestions??
