Sounds like you got the wrong thing, lid should
fit over the battery box with two L brackets on
each side, one L brackect on the box with a long
bolt attached and the lid should have another with
a holein for the bolt to fit though and then a
washer and wing nut fits on to. I have posted my
photopoint web page were I have pictures of my A,
you can see the battery box and how it's mounted
and the lid.
