My son took his 4DLT battery to the starter repairman and it checked out perfect. Told him what was going on with it not turning over quite fast enough to crank. Repairman said he was gonna get it starting for him. Ordered 6 volt field coils for the starter for $40 and is not going to charge my son for anything. Gonna put larger cables on also. Said it would spin much faster with the only drawback being the brushes might not last as long. 5 years instead of ten. Also told my son if that doesn't fix it, he is coming out to the farm and check things himself. This starter man is about 72 and has been in business forever. Has several patents to his credit and has the reputation in this area as being the best. Will keep you updated. Richard in NW SC
