Thanks for the reply! I have chased the problem down to the actual plunger going down through the deck. It moves up and down approximately an inch. According the previous owner, he saw some fluid leaking from the front of the tractor, stopped, turned the motor off and applied the lock. Whether this is completely accurate or not, it's what I am going off of. I would really rather not take the lid off.
So any suggestions for a one man job to release the lock? Or do I need two gorillas and a boy scout for this job? Thanks again!
