The voltage regulator on my B is some kind of a conversion regulator my IH dealer sold me to take the place of the cutout. The regulator has a long skinny resistor screwed on to the field terminal, going straight up and the field wire from the genny is screwed onto the resistor mid-way up on the resistor. The regulator quit working and I've been playing around with it trying to breathe a little more life in to it. The genny charges fine when the field terminal is grounded with a jumper wire. Do any of you know anything about this setup? Is this just a standard 6V regulator with a resistor screwed onto the field terminal or what? I have not taken the resistor off of the field terminal and tried bolting the field wire from the genny straight to the field terminal on the regulator yet. Ran out of time. If it's this resistor that's bad and the regulator is still good do any of you guys know what value of resistor will work? Lots of words for a simple question. LOL Jim
