is it merely a bias resistor between field and ground? if so.. that's common. keeps some field current going on an A circuit reg when field contactgs pop open.
if it's a series resistor in line withthe field tab.. methionks that is a 1 size fits all a circuit reg, adn it's bials resistor is of too low a value and they are adding in some series resistance.
if that is so. play with it a bit. if you have some low value power resistors.. substitute them and experement.. see what you get.
keep in mind with field contacts colsed.. bias resistors between feild and ground are bypassed.. but anything in series with the genny field and the reg will not be bypassed.
