believe the drain in the bottom is ok as it drips at times. Just not sure of size of air bleed and wondering if it is aprt of the problem. It has a tiny hole through the brass filler(not a jet just like a poured plug) Have had no experience with IH so not sure if this is a normal thing or "shade tree mechanic". Converted the starter to a post hookup and use a ford solenoid. It has an extra terminal that is used to bypass the reister for starting. Think I may try hooking that up for starting to see what happens. By the way I copied your 6-12 volt conversion description and used it on this rig. Worked great right away.
