well i just bought a 1974 model 154 lo-boy also. from factory, sae 30 weight oil was recommmended. but now adays oils are much better. i plan on using # 40 in mine. 10-30 or 10-40 is fine also. 15-40 is more recommended for diesel engines but it will run on that too. as for spark plugs i have not looked at them but am presuming they are the old champion D16's that came in these old ihc engines in basically all the tractors. but your napa dealer will have that info and go from there.
