A weak battery (just a little weak will do it) or high resistance cables (corroded at terminals or internally) poor ground or hot connections a starter switch that is getting hot when used, are all possible causes (maybe some of the baove together) cables on a 6v M should be 00gauge. Smaller wires will not roll it over with enough voltage left in the ignition to fire it. To see if this is the case, jump the coil with another 6v battery (supplying Negative to the coil and ground from the jumping ignition battery)with the ignition switch off, and roll the starter. if it starts, you know it is low voltage at the coil.
