Here in western PA, running and painted regulars start around $1500 and go up. Not running, not stuck, decent and relatively complete, are around $500 - $1000 depending upon overall condition and completeness.
Unless the you are dealing with a relative or good friend who will sell under scrap value, consider that the standard regular goes around 3800 pounds. At $12 a hundred avg for mixed scrap (cast iron and clean steel), that works out to $456 or approx. $500. scrap value.
