Good news and bad news. The good news is you found the symbols I sent you looking for. The bad news is I have never seen any listing for a symbol "F". Is there any chance there is a letter "A" in front of the "F"? If so, symbol AF is correct for a 504 with a gasoline engine. It was also on other C-153 engines (in 203 combine for example). If you find an "A" in front, there is your answer. If not, you can dig a little deeper. If you tear it apart, below the points plate are the centrifugal advance weights. They are mounted on a disk on the distributor shaft. That disk will be stamped for maximum advance and rotation direction. The AF distributor should be stamped 21L. If it is stamped something else, we can do some more looking to narrow down the possible distributor version.
The "E1" appears to be a date code, for May of some year that ends with a "1". 1961 would make sense for a 504 tractor.
