I bought a '47 BN at an estate sale this past weekend. The carburetor is in pretty poor shape both on the outside and internally. It looks like a Zenith carb, but there is so much rust and buildup that I cannot tell what the number is.
In looking at some of the previous posts and the parts site on this webpage, I was wondering if it matters what type of carb I put back on the tractor, as long as it is meant for that tractor model? Are there any restrictions or issues with putting a different type of Zenith on, or even a Marvel? There are several options for Zenith and Marvel carbs that are supposed to work for a BN, so I thought I would check before I purchased.
