Dean, You should check ALL your fuses first to see if they are good. The purple wire that routes from position #5 in the fuse box provides power to the Light Switch. Here is what my manual shows for the 784 model with flat top fenders, starting with position B1 (on the Light Switch) and continuing clockwise around to all six (6) positions: (1).B1 - green wire routes to and is connected to a Dark Green wire which then routes to position #3 in the Fuse Box. (2). Blue/White wire terminal routes to Rear Light and Right Front Work Light. (3). B2 - Purple wire routes to #5 position in Fuse Box. (4). Red wire routes to Rear Light (5). Red/Green wire routes to position #1 on Flasher unit. (6). Red/Blue wire routes to Instrument Panel (tach, speedo, L & R. panel lights) and left & right Headlights.
