On my 47 Super A I notice white foam. Also when I pulled the valve cover last summer I cleaned out a bunch of white foam gunk in the top of the valve cover. This white foam to me is usually an indication of water in the oil. When I pull the dipstick I do not see any foam on the dipstick. When I run the tractor mowing or pulling the plow or other things, I notice the water level going down a bit and that I need to keep refilling. However from other posts here on this board I hear stories of the water level dropping on the A's when they are worked hard. My concern here is that I have a cracked head, which I understand is prevalent on the A's. Will a compression check reveal this? The tractor starts easy and runs good with plenty of power. The exhaust does not emit any steam.
