The lid casting is the same but the machine work on the underside wasn't done. The holes for the three detent springs need to be drilled. I think there are at least six holes that need to be drilled and tapped. There are also several small areas that need to be milled (or ground) flat. When you flip the lid over, that work become evident and is doable by most who read this board.
The shifting forks can be modified by cutting off the forks from the rails and rotating them 180 prior to rewelding. Don't mix them up. The rail detent notches will be out of order.
