The length of the tractor (frame rails and hood) are different. The engines have nothing in common but color. The gas will bolt in but the starter is different, and the fan would need to be extended to be correct at the radiator. Other items would need attention, like the hole in the hood for an exhaust pipe. There are also no common parts for throttle, or other engine controls. The trans and brakes are the same. The front end lower pedistal interchange across M, SM, SMTA, 400, 450, and 560 single narrow, and wide. Were it mine I would keep it diesel. Jim
