The tractor you saw was probably, as previously mentioned, a 300 rear and a Super H front. THe casting date codes are a dead giveaway. The Super HTA was slated for production, but by the time it was ready, it was time for the 300 so IH just produced that instead- the various stages (Super H- Super H with live hydraulics-Super HTA-Farmall 300) seem to have been planed well in advance, so they just skipped a stage. There are photographs of what seems to be a Super HTA, but may just be a development mule for the hydraulics on a Farmall 300- butt ugly.
