Early A`s didn`t have very many date codes on them. It would be the letter "I" for 1939. I know I found one date code with an "I" on my `39 A (serial 1474), but don`t remember where I saw it. I`ll have to go out and take a look again. Also, if the engine IS original, correct me if I`m wrong, I believe the serial #`s for the tractor and engine matched on the A`s & B`s up to 1947 ??
