SM is geared faster than an M, so it would do well in 1st doing heavy mowing. The selling feature of the SM was that it was geared faster and with the added HP, you could do more work quicker. I have mowed, grill high timothy, running wide open. Here in Pa ground hog holes are a problem on hilly ground. The mounds can flip you over. Also I have worked some very hilly ground with the old narrow front end Farmalls and had no trouble. Keep your foot on the upper side wheel brake to keep it from losing traction and spinning.
