When I first started with Boeing in Wichita right out of college in the early 1960's I worked with a guy whose FIL had 16 sections of wheat in one block in western Kansas. Who knows that might have been a small patch but was a lot to someone who grew up on 400 acres. Also, when airplanes were landing at night at McConnell AFB with their landing lights on you could very clearly the amount of harvest dust in the air during the summer. Is wheat still grown at the same level in the state out your way?
