From the info available I think that you have one of two conditions. The wire to the plug that is not firing is bad and needs replaced with a spark plug wire that has an actual wire inside and not carbon. The second conditon that would give this fault is a shorted cap on the distributor and this being the case it needs to be replaced. Just for kicks check the gap on the points to see that they are not set to the extreme close or loose condition.
