Have a 1086 that was 2 yrs. old with 450 hrs. when we got it and now has about 9000 hrs. Been solid and dependable, has a few nitpicking age related issues I haven't got around to fixing but nothing big. Much nicer to run than a 66 with a cab of any kind. There is no amount of hushmat that will keep the hyd. and transmission noise out of a 66 with a cab since it isn't an isolated cab. The 1066 is a perfectly fine tractor but the 86 has the better cab. The 5088 is even better and nicer but more money. We have a couple JD Soundgard cab tractors(4440 and 4755) they had the best cab of the period until the Magnums came out, but then you are into bigger money yet.
