I agree with Bill. I brush hog with my C, no water punp, and work it hard in high brush like plum thickets. It gets hot after the radiator gets covered with leaves, but otherwise its OK.

If you fill it too full cold, it will relieve the excess, like he said.

There is other advice given on this board that a water pump can avoid your having to clean the radiator/block so I assume that is true too.

Make sure your timing is not late, too.
