Was great weather here today.. no real sun.. but warm.. like 79.. 1-2mph wind.. low humidity... perfect painting weather.
got some color on tractor.
rims were already fine. redone in recent history.
got 1 wheel weight hanging on the shop crane, cleaned and painted, then ran out of time. got 1 more to do.
pretty much when the weigths are cured I can mount them up... that and a few detail issues, and the H will be ready to go.
she was in good enough mechanical condition to only need some maintenance, and freshening up.
still chasing that electrical issue...
dinked with the cheap chinese reg on it today.. points for the field were not striking squarely, burnt and pitted badly.. past saving.
put the new reg on I got at napa.. again.. chinese junk points did not strike face to face.. took it back.
have one on order, crossed to a carquest number.. coming in next week.
till then I rigged up a spdt/center off toggle switch with 2 resistors to bias the generator field so I can have a high and low charge setting... using the old chinese regulator with the dead field circuit as a cut out only , etc.
Still need a muffler clamp, and a couple other detail items... and she's ready to roll.
