Originally black canvas. Later white canvas, none sold from the factory with red and white. Going backwards, Super M original seat with large spring under seat and shock in front of spring. Later SM seat (stage 2) had battery box under seat. Later H/M seat same as Super M, prior to that was a Monroe seat as an option that had the large spring, but large shock behind spring. Standard seat at that time was a curved pipe with small spring in front and small tool box under seat attached to the pipe. These may have been standard into the early 50's, don't know when the large spring seat became standard. Original seat in 1939-40 was similar, but not quite the same,made to go with the "slot top" transmission cover -- I have not seen one of those in person.
