Take it from someone who actually owns one, the only simularity between a 300 and an H is the name Farmall.
H then the super H, then the H-TA was introduced as the F300.
39hp, live pto, live hydraulics, disc brakes. Mine has three remotes & early fast hitch, I wouldn't take less that 4 grand for mine, you can find them cheaper, but usually with only one or two remotes, or a standard drawbar, or a lot of issues.
I have never figured out why so many here are afraid of rebuilding a tractor with a T/A. The parts have become much cheaper than a few years ago and are much more available. They work great for what they were intended for, hard pulls & plowing.
They were not designed to be used to slow a heavy load, or used for engine braking downhill, but in a hard pull, you can't beat one, anyone who has plowed with an H & got into some hard clay can vouche for the handiness of using a tractor with a TA.
My F300 does not have power steering, it doesn't need it, I rebuilt the steering bolster top to bottom, I can turn it stop to stop with just the spinner. If you are looking for a nimble, handy row crop tractor, you can't go wrong with a F300. Just my .02 worth.
There is nothing better looking than a restored F300.
