did you know that the clutch was redone when you bought the tractor? wish you would have asked before tearing back down. my experience has been a dry clutch like you are talkin g about sometimes need to be broke in or get a slight glaze on the discs before they work properly. a good way to start the process is at a slow idle ride the brakes and slip the clutch several times, be careful not to over heat too much at a time. unless you find a problem that is my recommendation.
