All I can tell you is that I have a 464 diesel (almost the same tractor), and the hour meter is broken at 15,299. It has been that way for many years! There has never been any engine, clutch, transmission, or hydraulic work done on it that I know of. We did overhaul the injector pump and alternator this year. It cost $600. It is an incredibly solid tractor. It will run and run and run. The 464 has done its share of plowing (3-16 in 3rd gear), but now we mostly cut and bale 14 acres of hay per year with it. It gets 50-100 hours per year, and it cranks up great even in cold weather. Fuel economy is INCREDIBLE! Not even 2 gallons an hour pulling a JD 336 baler! If I were you, I would buy the tractor if you need it.

Today's Featured Article - Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony.
